Montana Retreat
Crazy Mountains, Montana
Nestled in the Crazy Mountains of Montana, Prairie Studio worked with the owner to create a new seasonal home that serves as a welcoming and comfortable environment and was skillfully designed to connect seamlessly to the surrounding mountain-scape. This 2-level, 4-bedroom home has a spacious family gathering space and open kitchen on the ground floor. The upper level has a large balcony overlook that is easily accessed from any of the adjoining bedrooms. The house was designed to allow the Owner a comfortable place to decompress and enjoy mountain living. Due to the remote location, one of the primary challenges was getting materials shipped to the site in a timely and cost-effective manner. This was solved by simplifying the building geometry and specifying native materials that could easily be transported to the site.
